School hours are 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. or 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., Monday-Friday. Students may enroll for a minimum of three days per week (with additional flexibility in summer). Advanced Montessori classes and a Montessori Kindergarten program are also available.
Extended care, beginning at 6:30 a.m. and ending at 6:00 p.m., provides flexibility for families. Extended care includes rest, snack, arts and crafts, and free playtime. Children love it, and parents are encouraged to use it as needed.
Extended care is available for both mid-day and half-day programs. An extended care rate of $7.00/hour, billed in half-hour increments, will be applied for the time the child is at Evergreen beyond designated program hours.
Food is important to every Evergreen Montessori student! Nutritious snacks are provided to students daily and take into consideration students' individual dietary needs and restrictions. Parents may provide breakfast foods for their children to eat at school, and students who enroll in the full-day program may bring a lunch from home.
Stretch'n'Grow is a weekly exercise program that provides fun, safe movement and education about nutrition. "Stars shine bright because they eat right!"
Field trips take place as often as possible throughout the year, generally requiring a nominal additional fee from parents. Evergreen students have attended a concert by the Minnesota Orchestra, picked apples at an apple orchard, and learned about animals at the Minnesota Zoo. Evergreen Montessori counts on parents to help schedule and run safe, rewarding field trips.
